Start by lying on your back, in “Savasana” let your feet roll open and your arms rest at your sides. If you need extra support, you can place a pillow under your head or lower back. When you are feeling comfortable take a moment to connect with your breath. Allow your breath to flow naturally in and out through your nose.
As you allow your body to rest. Visualise the sun rising. See the sun in whatever colour feels pleasing to you, right now. Feel it’s presence suspended just above you, beginning to warm the space around your body. Kissing warm comfort onto your skin, notice the tingles and warmth on your face and the pleasant hmm travelling along your body as it absorbs these beautiful rays.
Notice the sun blessing the world with light, so our plants can grow. Notice the sun illuminating you’re spirit with warm energy. Take a moment to enjoy these warm comforts.
Invite the nurturing, glowing rays of the sun inside you. Allow them to brighten your every thought. Inhale this light into your body and allow it to travel down your chakra passage along your spine, awakening and blessing your chakras. The sun warms every muscle, joint and bone … allow every part of you to be soothed by the sun, so you feel completely relaxed.
As you inhale, breathe in the essence of the sun……And as you exhale, bathe internally in this warm, loving energy.
Notice the sun disappear deep inside your heart. With every inhale, warmth spreads through your body…pulsating, through every organ, tissue and limb. Allow the heat to radiate from inside you, take some time to connect with this sensation.
Notice a pure light from inside you, your own inner sun. Imagine sending light, from your heart, to someone you wish to share light with. Send this person loving energy, so that they too, bathe in the glow of the sun.
Rest in the silence of your own internal sun.
When you are ready, slowly let go of the sun visualisation. Know that it is there to light your way anytime you may need it. Allow the sun’s power to awaken you. Feel it’s vital life forcesway your mind to the present moment. Slowly begin to wiggle your fingers and toes. Do whatever you need to bring the awareness back into your physical body.
Finish your practice by repeating this Mantra 3 times “I invite the image of the sun to lift my spirit, soothe my heart and liberate my mind”
